Southwest rising to 45 knots south of Cape Foulwind for a time in the afternoon and early evening. Sea becoming high for a time in the south. Long period southwest swell rising to 6 metres south of Abut Head, but 5 metres in the north. Poor visibility in showers.

Saturday: Westerly 35 knots, easing to southwest 25 knots in the evening. Very rough sea easing. Heavy southwest swell.

Sunday: Southwest 25 knots, easing to 15 knots late. Rough sea easing. Heavy southwest swell easing.

Monday: Southwest 20 knots, easing to westerly 10 knots south of Cape Foulwind late. Moderate southwest swell.
